Logistop organised the focus session on Models and technologies to decarbonise in Port Logistics.

In the Port Logistics working group framework, from Logistop we have organised a focus session dedicated to the Models and technologies to decarbonise Port Logistics, giving continuity to the Innovation Lab of 26 September (more information) in which some of the initiatives that are already being developed by the Port Authority of Alicante and Bergé were highlighted. In addition, the imminent publication of a new call for public funding was highlighted.

Models and technologies to decarbonise Port Logistics

As a continuation of the previous session, this time we had Eduardo Segundo Puentes Parras, Transport Strategy Granter of FI Group, who explained the details of this new call for public funding aimed at projects that are already at an advanced stage of preparation. This call establishes five lines of action and eight measures, each one aimed at a specific type of project. In the case of the port sector, Action Line 4 and Mission 7 focus on the deployment of alternative fuels in ports. This call for proposals is expected to open imminently.

During the course of the session, Alfonso Mas, Partnership Madrid of FI Group underlined the opportunity that this call represents, as there are not many calls focused on the logistics sector, being an important resource for those companies looking to innovate in port logistics. Alfonso encouraged companies to consult and actively participate in this type of opportunity.

Also, José Andrés Giménez Maldonado, Head of Innovation of the Logistop Port Logistics Working Group and Director of Port Logistics of the Fundación Valenciaport emphasised the need for the sector to be more proactive in communicating its needs to institutions, so that when these funding opportunities arise, projects are aligned and prepared to be executed efficiently.

To conclude the session, a series of questions were asked to find out the concerns of the members and to be able to continue working along these lines within the Port Logistics Working Group of Logistop.
