Logistop organised Logistalks: Regulations and solutions for decarbonisation and energy efficiency in the logistics chain.
Within the framework of the Decarbonisation and sustainability applied to the logistics chain working group, Logistop organised the online event Logistalks: Regulations and solutions in decarbonisation and energy efficiency in the logistics chain, bringing together experts to discuss the current challenges and opportunities in sustainability applied to the logistics sector. In times of increasing commitment to emissions reduction, this event was presented as a space to share knowledge and explore innovative solutions that optimise energy resources and promote sustainability.
The event, moderated by Juan Carlos de Pablo, Head of Innovation of the Decarbonisation and sustainability applied to the logistics chain working group of Logistop, was attended by leaders in the sector, such as María Teresa Linaza, Director of Development and Institutional Promotion of Vicomtech, Daniel Penín, Energy Business Development of Almar Water Solutions, María I. Cubillo, Managing Director of SinCeO2 Consultoría Energética, and Israel Rosado,Technical Director – COO of On Energy. Each contributed their vision on how AI, resource reuse and energy analysis can transform logistics towards more efficient models.
Key conclusions:
- Artificial Intelligence for Carbon Footprint: María Teresa Linaza highlighted how AI can help us manage carbon footprint data and how to transform organisations to be more sustainable and how to reduce their costs.
- Circular economy and reuse: According to Daniel Penín, reusing and being circular is not only sustainable, it is a cost-effective and efficient option that brings both business and social benefits.
- Planning in decarbonisation: María I. Cubillo stressed the importance of an accurate diagnosis to design decarbonisation plans that generate economic benefits that allow the possibility of monetising those actions that are done by intuition.
- Tailor-made solutions in renewable energy: Israel Rosado commented that each project requires a customised energy solution to ensure economic viability and competitiveness in the sector.
This event concludes with an invitation to logistics companies to move towards sustainable logistics, highlighting how correct planning can be the first step towards a more competitive logistics sector that is committed to the environment.
